about

When the Motorstorm : Apocalypse project came up for Sony Europe, I jumped at the opportunity to work with a film score legend. Klaus Badelt has been responsible for many of the finest soundtracks in recent years, including Pirates of the Caribbean and Gladiator.

The orchestral parts were recorded at Abbey Road Studios and as source material were second to none ... the charge for me (and Noisia who did the other half of the in-game soundtrack) was to work his themes into music befitting of the game. In the space of 4 weeks I went from a handful of raw orchestral stems, to upwards of 15 different and finished tracks for use in the game.

A few months later, and with the kind permission of SCEE I set about evolving these works into longer-form pieces, and thus the 'Shockland' album was born.
